Brad Mehldau:River Man

Sobre esta composição que, conforme fica aqui patenteado, me deslumbrou pela sua beleza e simplicidade, direi apenas que foi composta em finais da década de 60 do século passado, e faz parte do album "Five Leaves Left"(1969), de Nick Drake, um rapaz que é hoje considerado um compositor-referência por muito boa gente. Morreu novo (26 anos), mas o pouco tempo que viveu foi suficiente para deixar obra feita de beleza eterna. Entre os que lhe reconhecem esse mérito encontra-se um dos maiores pianistas de jazz contemporâneos: Brad Mehldau. Os vídeos YouTube que aqui ficam não permitem uma audição perfeita mas servem como registo de um bom momento ao vivo de Mehldau e seu trio na interpretação deste tema, que se pode também ouvir no seu CD "The Art of The Trio III-Songs"(1998).
